When I first saw these I was very excited indeed. A friend of mine in the U.K. got the V-Mount model and wasn't so impressed. When I found out what he meant I giggled just a bit. You see, he was trying to use it front mounted on his rig almost as a viewfinder or front mounted monitor with the V-Mount model with battery attached of course. It is illustrated even in this post, but notice no battery on that configuration?
Well, it turns out the models with the battery plates do not allow for the removal of the plate, it is very much integrated. You need to get the no battery plate option in my opinion as it's more versatile and you will of course be able to mount it forward on your rig effortlessly and not suffer the potential weight issues. Also, the no battery plate version allows of course for the mounting of your own battery plate which can then be removed or put back on at will. Also, this cage has so many mounting options as every one of the holes on it are tapped mounting holes! The combinations are truly endless!
THAT is the model I'll be getting! Also, a configuration I personally am looking forward to is as a Director is having a handheld monitoring system on set. Oh maybe even wireless! Gotta do that!

That is correct. The Standard Bracket is what you would need.
